Gandharva Sangeethan Junior was certainly a major Disaster! The least favourite among the audience and the most favoured of the judges won the first place. Malavika, who hardly sang anything pleasant won the prize. Adharsh, who had won hearts of thousands, was supposed to be the first place winner.I too come from the field of music and I wonder what the judges had found so appealing in Malavika’s music that had made them arrive at this decision. As a matter of fact, Malavika had performed the worst in the finals. She had no expressions nor sweetness in voice. I have watched the GDS junior closely and the judges have been prasing the girl about her ‘different voice’. Its almost obvious that even Altos have better voices in reasonably low pitches. If they had judged only music, then I would say that Adharsh and Ramanand were far better. I request Kairali Tv to think twice before giving away prizes in the name of Ganagandharvan(who himself seemed appalled by the judgement) to those who are unworthy of them.
i think first prize should have been given to Ramanand & second to Adarsh. Malavika, how did she get it? I thought she would have been in the last place. What a surprise.

I am still wondering how the first price is gone to Malavika.I can say from my heart that the first price shoud go to Ramanandan and Adarsh if the judges judged only Music.I also would like to Kairali,pls do not entertain such crucial things which may cause these stuidents (aadrsh & ramanndan)will may loose their confident and their carrir will end up i starting.i was there is al nasr till the progra end up and still i dont know how this happend.such a fabulous judges like Johnson sir,sreeni,anuradha i am still wondering how they took a dcsion like this where we lost all the respects to these hhuman beings.

Arjun is the real winner in our hearts. Kairali and bad judges must answer for his tears.now onwards we are not watching kairali.Jam very sad it is infront of Dasettan,edn minister and lakhs of viewers

As a music lover, I am also not too happy with the result. Up until last year, I thought Gandharvasangeetham was the only competition where judges were not influenced by other factors. I fail to see what judges see in Malavika – just on the finals day itself, I can point so many mistakes. Her rendition of both the AR Rahman songs were below par. The only good news is that Adersh, who has been overlooked most of the time got a prize. Arjun, I hope you get the Gandharva Kireedam. You were the best contestant this year.
Gandharva Sangeetham did give us joy this year. Especially, Aruna’s Mayilpeeli was better than Hariharan’s:-), Ramanand’s Karnan song was out of this world and Arjun’s Anuragini was superb.
