One of the most creative women artists of South Asia, Anjolie Ela Menon has held over 30 solo shows and several group shows. Her works were exhibited in the fifty years celebration of Indian art at the National Gallery of Modern Art in New Delhi and this year the Indian Government has honoured her with a Padma Shree….

Anjolie Ela Menon (born 1940) is one of India’s leading contemporary female artists.

Anjolie Ela Menon was born 1940 in West Bengal of a mixed Bengal and American parentage.

She went to Lawrence School, Lovedale (near Ootacamund), in the Nilgiri Hills, Tamil Nadu. By the age of 15, when she left school, she had already sold a few paintings. Thereafter, she briefly studied at the Sir J. J. Institute of Applied Art, Mumbai and later earned a degree in English Literature from Delhi University.
